At the risk of sounding like an infomercial, I am going to continue the good karma blogging trend by recommending more products and companies that have helped me in a big way.
Proactiv, quite literally, has changed my life for the better. After going through a tough two-year-financial struggle, my husband asked me what was the first thing I was going to buy when we had a real income again. My first response was getting The Food Network and after that, Proactiv.
As a woman with fibromyalgia, acne is not just a cosmetic issue. I feel every blemish deeply and it causes me significant and sometimes traumatic pain. Seriously. I used to have beautiful skin growing up and then something changed. When I started to get sick, my skin went insane. Nothing worked and I suffered horribly from bad self-esteem and torturous pain.
In just a week of using Proactiv, my skin significantly cleared up and looked so much better and the pain was gone. I started to feel so much better about myself and not having additional physical pain in my life was such a relief. Now this is not to say I do not still get breakouts, I do, but they are not as deep and huge and nightmarish.
If you are interested in trying Proactiv, you absolutely must get the mask as well. If you can buy it at a kiosk a lot of the time it is included in the package. Once a week you must wash your face, put on the mask for ten minutes and then wash off and finish with the two other steps. When blemishes occur, and they still will but much less often, do the three step cleaning routine and then dab some of the clay on to the spot before going to bed. You have to do the treatment in the morning and at night but the payoff is unbelievable.
I have found that if you use the product sparingly, you can prolong your use of one kit for at least four months, sometimes five. It does seem to become less strong though so if you start breaking out, that is why.
I am so grateful for this product. I just wish there was a kiosk in Nova Scotia for me to buy it from but as usual, there is nothing here. Last time I bought some at the Eaton Centre in Toronto and in BC you can buy it at Coquitlam Center or Mayfair Mall in Victoria. Here, nothing. I really do not like ordering it online because there is at least a three-week shipping wait if you are in Canada. Still, I will do what I have to to get it.
Yes, it is an investment but how much money do you spend on your hair? Or your food? For me there is no question. I would use generic crappy brands of everything in the world before I would give up Proactiv. I never want to suffer like I used to ever again.

I use Proactiv as well, and completely agree. I only get a shipment about twice a year and it is enough for me. I do not use the three steps every time I wash because of sensitive skin, but it still works great! I just got the mask as well and *love* it. The green tea moisturizer is amazing. Definitely recommend it to all my friends, especially the men!
~i know quite a few who use proactiv...have stopped and then eventually go back...if you find what works thats whats the most important...and a small price to pay for making yourself feel good both inside and out...i always thought once i got into my thirties i would outgrow breakouts...well not so much! the joys of life right...warm wishes and brightest blessings~
