Martha Stewart's Rules in the Grocery Store

Martha's Rules at the grocery store

Ah yes. I am back to a routine I enjoy when the weather isn't horrible. Stopping by the library to pick up books of inspiration and then checking them out as I wait in line at the grocery store. Turns out I was too optimistic about the weather when I ordered the book The Martha Rules but for this book, I gladly endured the cold and rain.

Reading Martha's Rules

I think it was quite fitting that I was buying groceries when I read the sentence, "Search until you find your passion". There was a new cashier who was struggling and so I got out the book and lost myself in Martha's way of thinking.

All my life I knew I wanted to write. The only problem was figuring out what I wanted to write about. It has been two years and I am still passionately writing and photographing food. I still don't really understand this passion of mine but what I do know, is that it is very real. I have not gotten bored. I've gotten exhausted, hurt and depleted at times but not bored. So weird for this Aquarius!

Now I don't have a business plan or even a mission statement. But I finally, FINALLY found it. My passion is food. I want to write about it in all different ways. Try everything! Explore, adventure and share my thoughts and ideas.

The next step? I have no idea. I of course have my food blog but I am hoping for something new and exciting that I can actually physically do that makes me a little money. If you have any ideas, I would love to hear them.

If you are looking for a book by an amazingly successful woman, The Martha Rules has already been a fascinating read about her life in business and the people she has learned from and I have only gotten started with the book.

I am hopeful that some day soon I can use her rules and make amazing and potentially lucrative changes in my life.

Finding your passion is the crucial first step and you've successfully done that! Many people go their whole lives without discovering it. So yay for you!

So true Debra! I can't believe I FINALLY found it and that it stuck. At least so far, knock on wood. I am very lucky. Opening up to new possibilities is a great place to be.

Thanks Molly and the book is great! I love Martha's attitude and she begins the book talking about helping women in prison. It came out a few years ago, so glad I could get a copy.

Thanks Shelagh!!! :)
