It was not long after our move to Coquitlam, BC, back in 2002 before we were off on another day trip and adventure. This time we wanted to finally go explore the Sunshine Coast. We went through a rite of passage... waiting in line for a ferry at Horseshoe Bay to go and visit Gibsons.

We brought our friends Kum and Cathy with us and Cathy's rabbit Pepin!

A dark, moody but mild windy day on the water as Reg tried to stay upright while the clouds brushed the mountains behind him.

Pepin was, as usual, very friendly and curious, eager to explore Gibsons with us!

We of course wanted to see the famous Molly's Reach from the Beachcombers, Reg insisted on it.

We explored the little town and I bought the most beautiful stone necklace there that I wear to this day and wear in fondly.

I had the most amazing moment with this raven too who actually seemed as though he wanted me to take this photograph of him. This is one of my favourite photographs ever. I had such a special moment with this bird. It is hard to explain.

Reg, me and Cathy hanging out in town and OMG, I still have and wear those pants! I have to do some clothing shopping, that is crazy.

Reg skipping stones along the water.

Driving around the area, this is where my love of photographing old broken buildings began. I love this photo.

The mountains and wildflowers were so beautiful but it was time to get ready to go home.

Oops! Um, one of the "issues" with being spontaneous adventurers like us is we do not plan in advance and carry such things as "schedules." Turns out the ferries do not run very often. We were not going anywhere for well over an hour.

Good thing I always insist on bringing food, water and chairs with us just in case. We just hung out and chatted together until it was time to go.

Could Reg look anymore in his element?! I don't think so.

Everything on the mainland is green in BC but as soon as you get to the water, the world is transformed into many shades of blue. So beautiful. What a perfect day.

Gibson's and Molly's Reach are so iconic to any Canadian who grew up in the 70s! How wonderful to have been there in person. With a bunny on a leash.
Great photos Suzie! I especially like the mossy roof and the water.
Very nice pics. The rabbit going along on a leash cracks me up!
That spooky little house is just wonderful- I'dove to have a hideaway like that to write. :)
