I took this photo in August 2006 while taking a long walk in the brilliant non-stop summer sunshine down to Esquimalt Lagoon. The clam shells there were almost prehistoric in size, so massive. When standing on Rainbow Bridge looking down at the water, you could see them nestled in the sand. Along the beach were thousands of shards from the seagulls digging them out of the water and letting them crash against the stones to open them up.
Funny that it took me moving to the east coast to final taste clams and find out just how delicious they are.
Last night we had a moment of torrential rain again. There was a little moisture that made its way through but the contractor's tarring seemed to help. We are in for a day of thunderstorms so I will be watching the ceiling again, hoping our roof holds strong until we can get it replaced.
Hopefully we get some relief from the rain so they can actual come and give us a new roof but expecting sunshine on the east coast in the summer is asking for a lot. Let's hope Mother Nature co-operates and helps me out. I would really, really appreciate that.

It's been raining here for days too. I think Vancouver somehow moved east as far as Edmonton.
Put a tarp over the roof... its kind of redneck-ish, but it was really effective for us (of course, we tried it WAYYYYYYYY too late, after the damage was already done.) You may need some concrete blocks and bungee cords to keep it down, but it can work.
