Well isn't this a huge reveal! No wonder the robin went crazy, she built a nest right below where we put Oscar! I mean, right below Oscar, it's kind of freaky.
Reg made this discovery yesterday, a nest underneath our deck. I felt so bad about Oscar at first but realized since we put him up the crows have been staying away and crows steal robin eggs all the time. That made me feel better. So glad I took down the banging pie plate though. A new mom gets no sleep or quiet as it is!

I was surprised to see that one of my blueberry bushes actually has blooms on it so I might get a few blueberries for the first time this year. The other bush doesn't have any on it at all and they are still both quite short and small.

The only thing I have successfully grown so far has been strawberries and looks like if we get sun this summer I might be in for another good crop. We had a beautiful weekend but have a week of cold, dark and dreary rainy weather ahead of us. Sigh...

Shelagh took me out to a nursery last summer where I purchased this firewitch plant. I wanted some pinky purple flours in the garden and I of course loved the name. It is gorgeous! I am starting to see why people love to garden. I just wish it did not hurt so much.
I was going to grow rhubarb this year but doubt there is enough time to put some in and I have no idea where I would pick some up to plant. Gardening is perhaps the toughest thing for me. I seem to have a painfully allergic reaction to it. Such a shame. I always thought I would have a green thumb.

Isn't that a smart Robin!
Have you ever considered window gardening? Or growing succulents? They do so well indoors and are easy to take care of. I don't have a yard since I live in the downtown area of a city in an apartment, but I love having little bits of green energy around the house. :)
Beautiful image of the nest! What kind of camera do you have? Your photos are always so crisp!
The Firewitch Plant is stunning and hooray for some strawberries.
Hey Suzie I have some FireWitch here in the states ...I love yours mine is a lighter color...they call them PINKS here...I will look for what you have at my local nursery beautiful! My growing season is less then 90 Days..
Absolutely Debra! It was me who was the dolt, LOL.
Molly, I have tried growing plants on my deck, if that is what you mean. Not a lot of luck I am afraid. I think having green energy around the house is a beautiful thing! And thank you so much. Most photos I take out and about are done with my Canon Powershot SX 120 IS. My food photos are with a Rebel. Photo editing helps makes my Powershot photos pop, usually by boosting the levels.
Ava, isn't that the prettiest plant? I was shocked! I do hope we get sun so my strawberries grow.
Hey HDH! :) Are yours really that different? I do hope I get to the nursery this year. My growing season is quite short too, especially since it doesn't feel like spring has arrived most days.
A nest, what a suprize huh? Well at least you have an explanation for the aggressive bird. I've got one tomatoe plant and a squash plant on my patio, the tomatoe has one little green tomatoe and the squash had a tiny green squash that has disappeared! I really don't have a place for a garden but have put in for a community garden plot to really give it a good try. Looking forward to that.
I'm excited to see your gardening progress! Yes, gardening DOES hurt... LOL when I did it, muscles hurt in places I didn't realize I even HAD muscles. But I also was allergic... I tried to take allergy medicine about an hour before I gardened, and that sometimes helped.
